"One suggestion I make to residents is to mark your property in some way you can describe. Whether it be engraving your initials, or writing your name or some other marking on the item with a permanent marker. I stop several suspicious people who have quite a bit of property however I can’t recover items without verification that it belongs to someone other than the person I’ve stopped. Most of the time people don’t have serial numbers so this method can help in recovering property. Also, if you feel that what occurred isn’t worth calling the Police about you can go to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Website and complete a citizen report. This is the most common reason I’ve heard, not just on the Point, of why people don’t report incidents. A gas can missing from a shed may seem insignificant but it is still a burglary which is a significant crime.
If you don’t want to call the Police or do a Citizen Report, feel free to call me or email me and I will come out to take the report for you".
