Security Report May - 2009

Saturday May 9th, 2009 1200-1400 (2)

While patrolling the Point I stopped one vehicle on Driftwood Dr for a minor traffic infraction.  The driver was given a warning.

I went to a residence to follow-up at the request of Auburn PD in an attempt to locate a reported stolen vehicle.  The possible suspect had an old address on Driftwood Pt.  I was unable to locate the vehicle.

On 26th St Ct E I was contacted regarding a loose pitbull running around.  I contacted the owner on 179th Ave E.  He said the dog is friendly and went looking for it.  I did not see the dog.

During this time I continually patrolled the Pt, and checked the park as well.

Tuesday May 12th, 1215-1415 (2)

During this time I patrolled the Point, and made a few checks of the park area as well.  I parked my patrol vehicle around the Point in various locations to deter traffic related issues.

On 25th St Ct E I saw a coyote in an open lot in the 18100 block.  The coyote ran into a small wooded area and was not seen again.  There are several cats and small dogs frequently seen in this area that could easily fall prey to a coyote.

Saturday May 16th, 2100-2300 (2)

While checking the park I came across three juveniles in the park.  They were sitting on the swings.  I contacted the juveniles who live in the area.  They were not causing a problem and left shortly thereafter.

On 179th Ave E I heard yelling coming from a residence.  It sounded like a male and female arguing.  I was unable to pinpoint exactly where the yelling was coming from.  It lasted for several minutes before stopping.  Nobody contacted me to regarding any possible crime.

I also responded to a residence regarding a domestic dispute.  One subject left the residence in a pickup and was arrested attempting to leave.  His pickup was left off the road where he was arrested.  After completing my investigation, another family member left to get the pickup.  I drove by minutes later and now found all the windows had been broken out with a bat.  Several people witnessed the incident and it was determined another family member was responsible.  He was not located.  The damage to the vehicle was documented in a separate incident report.

Wednesday May 20th, Mid-0200 (2)

During this time I patrolled the Point and made several checks of the park.  While patrolling the Point I came across a residence on 25th St Ct E, shortly after midnight, with an open garage door.  I checked the garage and everything appeared in order.  After I checked the garage the homeowner came outside.  He said he got home a short time ago and was working in his shop.  He closed the garage door.

At about 0130 hrs I came across a residence on 26th St Ct E with the garage door open.  I checked the garage and didn’t notice anything unusual.  I attempted to contact the owner however there was no answer at the door.  I closed the garage door however I was unable to properly secure it.

Tuesday May 26th, 1200-1400 (2)

During this time I patrolled the Point and made several checks of the park.  I also parked my patrol vehicle in various locations on Driftwood Dr E to deter speeding vehicles.  I did stop two vehicles for speeding on Driftwood Dr.  Both drivers were issued an NOI for speeding.  The vehicle speeds were 34 mph and 42 mph.

Wednesday May 27th, 2200-Midnight (2)

While checking the park I found a vehicle parked near the boat launch gate.  The truck had a canopy on the bed.  I looked inside the truck and found two people under a blanket.  They were moved along.  While patrolling the Point I came across a residence on 179th Ave E with the garage door open.  I contacted the resident who said he had shut it but the door must have gone back up.

I stopped one vehicle on Driftwood Dr E for speeding.  The vehicle speed was locked at 35 mph.  The driver was issued an NOI.

During this time I patrolled the Point and made frequent checks of the park.

Saturday May 30th, 1600-1800 (2)

During this time I made frequent checks of the park and checked with the attendant for any problems.  The park was very busy during this time with vehicles parked all along the side of the road.  No problems were encountered at the park.

I stopped one vehicle on Driftwood Dr E for speeding.  The driver was issued an NOI for going 37 mph.

While driving on 185th Ave E I was contacted by a lost driver.  She was attempting to locate a residence but didn’t know what road to look on.  I was unfamiliar with the name and was unable to assist her.

I contacted the owner of a vehicle parked on Driftwood Dr near 182nd Ave E.  The vehicle was parked in the roadway blocking the majority of the eastbound lane on Driftwood Dr.  The owner moved the vehicle.

I attempted to contact a subject for follow-up investigation regarding vandalism to a pickup.  The subject was seen driving a pickup on 185th Ave E at 26th St Ct E.  The driver fled to his residence and ran inside before I could catch up to him.  He refused to come outside.

During this time I routinely patrolled the Point as well.

Sunday May 31st, 1100-1300 (2)

During this time I patrolled the Point, making several checks of the park as well.  I frequently checked the park as this was a very hot day.  No issues were encountered and the park only had a moderate crowd.

While I was parked on Driftwood Dr I was contacted by a resident regarding a lost dog.  I had seen the dog only a short time ago in a yard on 25th St Ct E.  I was not aware it was loose and did not belong in the yard it was in.  I followed the owner back to the area the dog was last seen and he was found.

Monday June 1st, Midnight-0200 (2)

While patrolling the Point I came across a vehicle on 179th Ave E with the interior dome light still on.  I checked the vehicle and didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary.  The vehicle was still locked.  I was unable to contact the owner.

There was a small party on 176th Ave E with multiple vehicles parked on the roadway.  No problems were encountered with the vehicles as they were not blocking the roadway.

Routine patrols of the Point and park were made during this time.

Wednesday June 3rd, Midnight-0200 (2)

During these hours I made several checks of the park and routine patrols of the Point.  While driving on the Point I came across a coyote on 185th Ave E at 26th St Ct E.  The coyote was seen running through yards heading onto 26th St Ct E.  He appears to be the resident coyote…

On 180th Ave E I saw a Dodge Charger in a driveway with driver’s side door standing open.  I checked the vehicle and found nothing suspicious.  I closed the door.  Inside the garage I could hear a stereo playing.  I knocked on the door and it opened.  I checked inside and found nobody.  I closed the door.  I was unable to contact the owner and left a notice and their door.

During the past week I responded to a residence on 185th Ave E regarding fraudulent account activity and possible mail theft.  I also received a complaint regarding a found marijuana pipe on the vacant lot next to the park.  There is an area on the fence where the top is bent down and it appears people are accessing the park from the vacant lot.
