Security Report April - 2009 Thursday, April 9th 1200-1400 (2) While patrolling the Point I came across four open mailboxes. Two were on 179th Ave, one on 26th St Ct E, and one on 185th Ave E. All the mailboxes still had mail in them and it is unknown if anything was taken from inside. I contacted a female in a vehicle that was driving slowly around the Point. I saw her go to several residences. I contacted her and she was a Census Worker. She said she would be in the area for a week or so. I also contacted a resident regarding the theft of a catalytic converter from his pickup. He had no suspect information. The theft occurred sometime over the past month. Routine patrols of the Point and park were made during this time. Sunday, April 12th 1800-2000 (2) During this time I patrolled the Point and checked the park as well. While driving around I encountered a few parking issues however the vehicles were later moved, no longer creating an obstruction. I assisted two Deputies with attempting to locate a subject who ran out a back door or a residence on Tacoma Point. The subject was wanted for a Domestic Violence related assault, and multiple warrants. I was advised the subject was heading for the Point. A K-9 track was done however the subject was not located this day. Wednesday, April 15th 1200-1400 (2) During this time I contacted a resident regarding a hit and run collision that occurred the night before. The actual victim was the resident’s son who was not currently home. Little information was known about the vehicle that caused the collision and fled. I came across a vehicle on 185th Ave E with the driver’s side door open. Nothing appeared out of the ordinary and it appeared the door was not closed hard enough to latch. The door was shut. I stopped one vehicle on Driftwood Dr for a minor traffic issue. The driver was given a warning. I took a theft report for a stolen quad. The quad was kept in a trailer on a vacant lot. The lock was cut from the back and the quad removed. There was no suspect information. The theft occurred sometime over the past two weeks. Friday, April 17th 1900-2100 (2) I stopped one vehicle on Driftwood Dr for a minor traffic issue. The driver was given a warning. While driving on the Point I saw a subject apparently look at my patrol vehicle and suddenly take off running. The subject was at a residence where there is a known person with a felony warrant. The person appeared to be the wanted subject. I went to the residence and found the subject behind a motor home in the driveway. He was not the subject I was looking for. He claimed he ran because someone called him. It is unknown if the wanted person was there or not. I continually patrolled the Point and made frequent checks of the park as well. Monday, April 20th 1130-1330 (2) While driving around the Point I was flagged down by a delivery driver. He was lost and given directions to the home he was looking for. I was also contacted by a resident regarding a noise issue. A neighbor was apparently running a generator long into the night causing a disturbance. The generator was not currently running. I advised the subject to call should the generator continue tonight. I patrolled the Point and parked in several different locations. I was primarily focusing on watching the mail delivery and mailboxes as there have been several found open as of late. No subjects were seen tampering with the mailboxes on this day. I worked a total of ten hours during this time.
