PARK RULES REVISED FOR SUMMER OF 2007

USE OF THE FACILITIES

The parks, boat launching area/ramps, and ball field are for the exclusive use of DPA members.  Members shall be considered to be those individuals determined by title, as owner of the property, which constitutes the Driftwood Point Association.  Children living with the member and individuals residing in the same residence will be considered “Associate Members” and will have limited rights explained below.  Owners renting their property may designate the renters as the people having rights of park privilege rather than themselves.

Use of the parks will be allowed only to members and associate members whose assessments are current and who are members in good standing, along with accompanied guests in the amount specified below.  Each member is responsible for their proper use and no member has a right or privilege of use not granted to all members. Members cannot authorize guests to use these facilities in the member’s absence.

Member’s rights to use these facilities have precedent over the rights of guests of members to use these facilities.  To insure room for members, no member may have a party of more than 20 individuals at a time in the park, other than when scheduled as a “group activity.”  (An adult member must accompany this group of 20 or less.)  “Associate Members” may not have more than 3 accompanied guests.  Members may not combine groups to make a larger group.  Members are responsible for the conduct of all guests using the park as a part of their memberships.

PARK RULES NOTES

Acceptable forms of picture I.D. include, but are not limited to, a driver’s license or student body card showing the name of the member to be the same as one that is on record.  Each voting member has been issued one security card.  If the card is lost or needs replacement, the charge is $50.00, non-refundable.  A second card (maximum 2 per property owner/lessee) can be issued upon request, for a charge of $50.00, non-refundable.  Giving the card to an unauthorized person(s) will result in first a written warning being sent to the members address informing them of the situation. If a second violation occurs, the member and associate members will lose their park privileges for the remainder of the year.

Park attendants’ primary duties are the maintenance and operations of property.  For this reason, parental/adult supervision is required for all small children using the facilities.

No wheeled vehicles are allowed in the parks except wheelchairs. Wheeled vehicles include roller blades/skates, skateboards, bicycles, or scooters.

Any unacceptable behavior will result in first a written warning being sent to the members address informing them of the situation If a violation occurs a second time the member and associate members will lose their park privileges for the remainder of the year.

Any threatening behavior or physical abuse toward park personnel will result in the member and associate member losing park privileges for the remainder of the year.

USE OF BOAT LAUNCHING AREA/RAMP

BOAT/PERSONAL WATERCRAFT (PWC) TRAILER STICKERS:  Each member will be issued a boat/PWC trailer sticker upon request.  Trailer stickers will only be issued upon sending a copy of the current trailer registrations showing that the member owns the trailers.  The sticker is to be attached to the left side of the trailer up front on the guide standard, if trailer has one, or on the tongue of the trailer.  (if you have any questions regarding where to attach the sticker, please contact the park attendant.)  This allows the member to park their vehicle and trailer in the launch area. Trailers not having this sticker are subject to impound by the company posted and at the owner’s expense. A member’s guest may launch their boat if accompanied by the member, but must take trailer back to member’s property.

Violation of the boat launch area/ramp rules will result in first a written warning being sent to the members address informing them of the situation. If a second violation occurs, the member and associate members will lose their park privileges for the remainder of the year

Members will observe and ask their guests to observe “Title 43 Watercraft Regulations of Pierce County”.  Copies may be obtained from the Pierce Count Sheriff Department at 9511 Bridgeport Way, Tacoma, WA.  Additionally, they are posted at the park and on the Driftwood Point Website (go to www.driftwoodnews.com.

PARK GROUP ACTIVITY RULES

GROUP ACTIVITIES: A qualified member must accompany group activities at all times.  Group fees of $150.00 must be paid at time of reservations with two checks.  One check for $50.00, which is non-refundable, and one check for $100.00, which will be returned if the park is left clean and rules of the park are complied with by the group.  (If a reservation is requested more than 2 weeks in advance, then a $100.00 check is to be post-dated 2 weeks prior to the party.)  Group activities will not be scheduled on holidays or holiday weekends and shall only be held on the island.  Group activities will be considered as those consisting of more than 20 people and limited to 50 people maximum per group.  Two members cannot combine to make a group activity of more than 50 people.
