Monthly Board Meeting (October 8th, 2007)

Call To Order:
The October  2007 DPA Community Board Meeting was held at Lake Tapps Elementary and was called to order by President Joe Muscarnera at 7:01 p.m.

Attendance:
Attendees included President Joe Muscarnera, Vice President Toni Jilek, Secretary David Thorsen,  and Trustees Jean Julum,   Liz Johnson, , Scott Thorsteinson, and Justin Nimick.

Trustees excused: Treasurer Kathleen Hickey, Justin Carlo

Members in attendance: Don Fisher, Ann Fisher, Stan Baber, Ron McOsker, Liz Palmley, Joe and Debbie Suver;

Approval of previous minutes:
The September 2007 Board Meeting minutes were read by David Thorsen, seconded and approved.

Treasurer’s Report:
Joe Muscarnera reported for Kathleen Hickey :

1.     The delinquencies are at $5,620.56  as of 9/31/07

2.     Income stands at $971.05 ( which reflects late charges, gate card fees, park use fees and interest income of $327.05 for the month)

3.     Money Market account sits at 77,190.53 as 9/31/07

4.     We currently are roughly running over budget $2,500

President’s Report
Joe Muscarnera briefly outlined the agenda.  He reported the following:

1.     The third animal noise complaint for the year has been successfully handled

2.     The Entrance lighting still needs additional quotes

3.     Concrete repair at the park should start roughly November 5th

4.     Entrance Bulletin Board will be discussed tonight

Member of the month award
For the month of September:  Justin Carlo, for his tireless work and dedication toward the refurbishment of the front entrance.  Both through his own diligence and in a supervisory role, he has successfully changed the look to our community entrance which is a direct reflection upon all of its members. Great Job Justin!

Park Committee Report:  Jean Julum

1.     All containers are picked up and the park is officially winterized

Lake Tapps Community Council Meeting:
Don Fisher reported: Auburn/Sumner/Bonney Lake have offered to purchase the Lake for 33 million. The community council will be meeting with Cascade this Wednesday the 10th.  Survey work is also being done on the diversion dam.  Cascade water will have to step up to match the offer to PSE.

Unfinished Business:

New Business

1.     Justin Nimick made a motion to discuss the possible movement of the reader board (currently located at the front entrance) to a more sensible location as to not take away from the new front entrance. . The motion was seconded and passed by all Trustees present with a future location to be determined.

Open Discussion:

Toni Jilek brought up the topic of two pit bulls located in the 180th and 25th or 26th area.  The leash laws should be enforced.  The police have been contacted in regards to this issue.
