Monthly Board Meeting (October 13, 2008)
Lake Tapps Elementary School

Call To Order:
The October 2008 DPA  Board Meeting was held at Lake Tapps Elementary and was called to order by Vice President Scott Thorsteinson at 7:00 p.m.

Attendance:
Attendees included Vice President Scott Thorsteinson, Secretary David Thorsen, and Treasurer Ron Wilderman, with trustees  Pat Cavanaugh,  Jerry Blessing and community members  Stan Barber,  Joe & Debbie Suver, Kristy Thorsteinson, Toni Jelik, Clint & Amber Kautzman, Liz Parmly and Don & Ann Fisher.

Trustees excused: Justin Nimick, Justin Carlo and Joe Muscarnera

Approval of previous minutes:
The September 2008 minutes were read, seconded and approved.

President’s Report

1.      Nothing to report.

Volunteer/Neighbor of the Month: Clint Kautzman
Ann Fisher announced that Clint was the volunteer of the month for his large amount of help with the installation of the new fence/gate and the assistance he provided with the Totem Pole completion.  

Treasurer’s Report
Ron Wilderman gave the report with the following bulletin points

1.     YTD income is roughly $3200 ahead of budget and YTD expenses are roughly $2100 under budget putting us a little under $6000 in the black

2.     BECU interest is down as well as Gate Cards

3.     We are about $15,000 over in the reserve fund due to three major events:

a.     Pole

b.     Paving Asphalt

c.     Fence.

Park Committee Report:

1.     The old sign still needs to be put up.

2.     The Pole/Tree needs to be vanished.

3.     The Asphalt needs to be stained

Entrance Refurbishment Committee report: N/A

Architecture Committee Report:  N/A

Communications Report:
Don Fisher not available

Finance Committee Report:
Ron Wilderman reported that we still need to schedule a meeting.

Lake Tapps Community Council Meeting:
Don Fisher, reported the following: Not a lot is happening while the election is going on.  Ecology may make a move after the elections and the cities may be involved and a resolution may be available in the spring.  There is a Wednesday night meeting.

1.     Unfinished Business and New Business The budget was originally structured for additional street lights, so suggestions need to be made for possibly locations of new light poles.

2.     The possibility of a shoulder line should be continued.

Open Discussion:

1.     Clint has taken care of the two birds and noise levels should be down to an acceptable level.  Clint was thanked for his assistance in this matter.
