Dogs on the Loose?

Special Driftwood Point Meeting

Date: March 18, 2004

Location:  Lake Tapps Elementary

Meeting was called to order by Bob Lee at 7:07pm.

Attendants: Don & Ann Fisher, Joe Muscarnera, Tim Wilson, Devin Graham, Jean Julum, Chuck Romeo, Bob Lee, and Ron McKosker,  Ann Beurskens and a large list of community members (approx 128 signatures at the door).

Excused:  Becky Ojala and Mike Drumright

New Business:

1)       This meeting was primarily to present the proposed dues increase to the community and let them know why it was necessary and answer some of the questions and then vote on it.

a)       A list of past, present and future expenditures was presented as was an agenda and rules for the meeting.

b)       A financial presentation was done by Tim Wilson showing the “state of the union” of DWP.

c)       Several questions were raised but there was not time during the course of the meeting to answer them so Ron McKosker has take a few of them and will post them on the DWP website with the applicable answers as we are able to.

d)       Ron McKosker spoke about his support for the increase and the Community of DWP

e)       Joe Muscarnera spoke of some of the legal issues and asking “what would it take for a yes vote tonight”?

f)        Don Fisher gave an update on Saving Lake Tapps.

g)       The annual garage sale and Easter Egg hunt were brought up (donations for the Easter Egg hunt were taken and collected was approx. $170.00.

h)       Bob Lee spoke of the board members leaving the board and the open vacancies left on the board. Requested people interested sign up tonight.

Motions made/decided:

                A motion was made by Byron Larson to continue the dues increase until May 1, 2009 where it would then be reevaluated to decide if the continual yearly increase of $10 dollars is still necessary. The community voted 108-2 in favor.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:40pm.
