Approval of previous minutes:
The January 2008 Board Meeting minutes were read by David Thorsen, seconded and approved.

Motion to suspend normal procedure for special presentation from Eric Jank of our security patrol made and seconded and approved.

1.     Eric spoke about patrolling procedures during the current winter months and that due to weather less illegal active and more traffic complaints are seen.  With the coming of spring, criminal activity could increase.

2.     Park trespassers haven’t been a major issue in his eyes as the criminals have been “gone on arrival” on the 5 calls he’s received recently.

3.     The patrol will max out the 22 hours allotted per our budget to decrease community concerns and increase safety .

Treasurer’s Report:
Joe reported for Kathleen Hickey:

1.     The delinquency are at $8,803.89 which includes dues, delinquency charges and legal fees as of 01/31/2008

2.     Income stands at $214.21 ( which reflects late charges, gate card fees, park use fees and interest income for the month)

3.     Money Market account sits at 59,874.03 as of 01/31/2008

4.     Expenses stand at $2,212.54 for the month of January

President’s Report
Joe Muscarnera briefly outlined the agenda.  He reported the following:

Tree carving will move ahead with Mr. Backus doing the work and the project should start in about 45 to 60 days, depending on his schedule.

Member of the month award
For the month of January the volunteer of the month goes to Tim Wilson.  Tim donates hours upon hours to our community and has been doing so for the last 19 years.  Between committees, the Christmas drive by/food drive, and manual labor around the point, Tim has gone beyond what we ask of the community members. .

Communications Report:
Don Fisher advised that there has been one letter submitted so far for the next newsletter and we need two more advertisers.  Notices of the upcoming budget will accompany the newsletter.  This year marks the 50th year of incorporation as well.

Finance Committee Report:
Kathleen will schedule a meeting during the end of the month.

Lake Tapps Community Council Meeting:
Don Fisher reported that paperwork is not signed for the Cascade purchase yet.  A lot of what we’re hearing in the media a more propaganda.  More to come when he hears it.  The diversion dam was “repaired” on the 6th. .

Unfinished Business:
See presidents report regarding Steve Backus and the tree carving

New Business

1.     The erasable sign will be moved coming this spring

2.     The old entrance sign will be place at the park facing the water this spring as well.

3.     Stan spoke to John McDonald at the local fire station and verified that the station is manned 24/7, while the station on the other side of the lake is solely volunteer.  A possible volunteer brigade might be a suggestion for a increase sense of security in case of emergency and better response time.

Open Discussion:

Meeting adjourned at 7:47 p.m.
