Driftwood Point Association (DPA)
Monthly Board Meeting (December 10th, 2007)

Call To Order:
The December  2007 DPA Community Board Meeting was held at Lake Tapps Elementary and was called to order by President Joe Muscarnera at 7:01 p.m.

Attendance:
Attendees included President Joe Muscarnera, Vice President Toni Jilek, Secretary David Thorsen, Treasurer Kathleen Hickey, and Trustees Jean Julum,   Liz Johnson, Scott Thorsteinson, Justin Carlo and Justin Nimick.

Members in attendance: Don Fisher, Ann Fisher, Stan Baber, Liz Palmley, Allan Dobson and Mike Hickey.

Approval of previous minutes:
The November 2007 Board Meeting minutes were read, seconded and approved.

Treasurer’s Report:
Kathleen Hickey reported:

1.     The delinquency are at $8195.83 which includes dues, delinquency charges and legal fees as of 11/30/07

2.     Income stands at $385.43 ( which reflects late charges, gate card fees, park use fees and interest income of $238.30 for the month)

3.     Money Market account sits at 64,839.99 as of 11/30/3007

4.     Expenses are at $1,937.81 for the month with all current expenses within budget

5.     The yearly audit still requires signatures by certain board members.  

President’s Report
Joe Muscarnera briefly outlined the agenda.  He reported the following:

1.     Asphalt upgrade delayed too long, and we’ll have to wait til spring.

2.     Bulletin Board movement and lights at the entrance are still pending.

Member of the month award
For the month of November the volunteer of the month goes to Ann Fisher.  Ann has been very involved with the Save Lake Tapps Coalition and with this program of the Driftwood Point Volunteer of the month Program.  Besides implementing the Welcoming committee, she also assists her husband with “the pointer” our community news letter.  Ann is a dynamic and very valued member of our community.

Park Committee Report:  Jean Julum

1.     As usually the tennis courts need to be addressed this spring

2.     There are still bids being received

3.     The basketball court is also in need of repair

Entrance Refurbishment Committee report: Justin Carlo
Nothing at this time.

Architecture Committee Report: Joe
Viviana Winklestin submitted building plans with all of the needed supporting documents for a project on 179th.

Communications Report:
Don Fisher advised that another newsletter will be due out in January, so please get your articles in.

Finance Committee Report:

Lake Tapps Community Council Meeting:
Don Fisher reported: At a recent meeting, we were advised that the diversion dam will not be repaired, so the lake level will start increasing now to about 18” from top level (about 543’ above sea level).

Open Discussion:
Toni discussed the need for volunteers to judge the Christmas decorations and that the Santa Ride  was scheduled for the 13th at 7:30pm combined with a food food donation to go to the Sumner Food Bank.

Joe brought up the suggestion of adding a “No Solicitation” sign near the entrance, with a member’s only type insignia.
